The 2016 Gold Proof Last Round £1 was the final round gold proof £1 to be produced, before the introduction of the new twelve-sided £1 coin in 2017.
The obverse features the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark.
The reverse, designed by Gregory Cameron, features a crowned lion, unicorn, dragon and stag representing the four nations of the UK, surrounding a central crown.
Only 499 examples were sold individually by The Royal Mint, making this a particularly scarce modern British gold coin.
