Selling your gold by post is simple, secure and discreet. Request a Gold-by-Post pack online and we will send you a pre-paid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope together with a Seller Declaration Form.

Place your gold items in the enclosed packaging, complete the form, and take the sealed parcel to your local Post Office counter. We recommend retaining your receipt for peace of mind.

When your parcel arrives, your items are opened under CCTV and professionally assessed using industry-standard testing methods. We will then contact you with a no-obligation offer. If you accept, payment is made by same-day bank transfer. If you decline, your items are returned to you free of charge.

Is it safe to send gold by post? Yes. We use Royal Mail Special Delivery, which is a secure, tracked service requiring a signature on delivery. All pre-paid Gold-by-Post packs are sent with Special Delivery postage, and we recommend retaining your Post Office receipt when sending your parcel for peace of mind. When your parcel arrives, it is opened under CCTV and handled by experienced professionals.

How do I choose the correct compensation level? When requesting your Gold-by-Post pack, you will select a postal compensation level. If you are unsure of the value of your items, we recommend selecting the higher option for peace of mind. The compensation level relates only to Royal Mail’s transit cover and does not affect the value of any offer we make. Compensation is limited to the level selected and subject to Royal Mail’s terms and conditions.

What happens if my parcel is lost in transit? If your parcel is lost in transit, any claim for compensation will be made in accordance with Royal Mail’s terms and conditions and limited to the compensation level selected when requesting your pack. We recommend keeping your Post Office receipt until your transaction is complete. Full details are set out in our Terms & Conditions.

Will my jewellery be damaged during testing? In most cases, testing is non-invasive. However, in some circumstances, small samples or partial destructive testing may be necessary to accurately determine metal content and purity. This is standard industry practice and allows us to provide accurate valuations, particularly for high-carat or non-hallmarked gold. We do not proceed with any sale without your express consent.

Will my jewellery be damaged during testing? In most cases, testing is non-invasive. However, in some circumstances, small samples or partial destructive testing may be necessary to accurately determine metal content and purity. This is standard industry practice and allows us to provide accurate valuations, particularly for high-carat or non-hallmarked gold. We do not proceed with any sale without your express consent.

How quickly will I receive payment? Once your items have been assessed, we will contact you with a no-obligation offer. If you accept the offer, payment is made by same-day UK bank transfer. Funds typically clear immediately, depending on your bank.

What if I do not want to accept the offer? There is absolutely no obligation to sell. If you decline our offer, your items will be returned to you free of charge using insured Royal Mail delivery. We do not charge administration or return fees.

What happens if I do not respond to your offer? If we do not receive a response within 28 calendar days of communicating your offer, your items will be returned to you in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. We do not treat silence as acceptance and will never proceed with payment or sale without your express consent.

Do I need to provide identification? In some circumstances, we may require identification in order to comply with UK regulations and anti-money laundering requirements. If required, we will advise you during the process.

Is there any cost to use your Gold-by-Post service? No. There is no charge to request a Gold-by-Post pack, and there are no administration fees. If you decline our offer, your items are returned free of charge. The only limitation relates to the postal compensation level selected, which governs Royal Mail’s transit cover.
