The coin features Queen Elizabeth II's fifth official coinage portrait by Jody Clark on the obverse. The reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci's iconic St George and the Dragon design, accompanied by a special crown '95' privy mark created to commemorate the Queen's 95th birthday.
The edge features 95 mills instead of the usual 108, providing another distinctive detail unique to the 2021 issue. With a limited edition presentation of 7,995 coins, the 2021 Sovereign is also notable as the final Queen Elizabeth II Sovereign issue to feature the traditional St George and the Dragon reverse.
